Impact of Core on AIS Threshold as a Matter of Policy

There has been some discussion about impact Core standards will have on AIS. As discussed in my post from several weeks ago, an AIS plan was supposed to be developed and implemented as a matter of district policy and reduced to writing, posted conspicuously and/or mailed in hard copy to parents to clarify the new AIS threshold and district policies as to qualification of the same.

I do not see this plan on the Spackenkill  district website. Perhaps it is forthcoming via mail? It was due to parents by 11/1/13, just a reminder.

“The proposed regulations would require each school district to develop a uniform process by which the district determines whether to offer AIS during the 2013-2014 school year to such students and, no later than November 1, 2013, to either post to its Website or distribute to parents in writing a description of this process.”
